  1. We have two milch cows "the blue cow," and "the magpie cow." The blue cow is a very quiet cow and does not go thiving but seldom. The magpie cow is a very cross cow and it is a very high ditch or a very wide drain that would hold her in a field. we have a sidelang on her nearly always. We put a spanshel on them in the stable. A spanshel is a chain that goes round the cow's neck and is attached to a stake that goes in the ground by means of a staple. We get a can of milk from both of them. They are out in summer
