churn and break it there. The people bless the churn when they finish churning. The people say its not right to put out ashes on May morning. If a person get up early on May morning and milks his neighbour's cows he will have the luck of their butter for the year. Long ago when people made a churning they put a piece of butter behind the door for the fairies to get.
