    AFTER DAVITT RETURNED TO IRELAND. THE LAND STRUGGLE BEGAN BETWEEN THE IRISH LANDLORDS AND THEIR TENANTS.
    Davitt advised the tenants not to submit to evictions and to have a firm grip of their little holdings.
    The English Government sent police and soldiers to help the landlords to put out the poor Irish people from their homes. At last a boycott League was introduced and the landlords and their supporters were treated as fools
