    and a quenched coal and roll the salt and coal up in the paper and tie it on to the child's clothes because they believed if that was not done the child would be brought away by the fairies.
    Another custom which is kept in every house in this parish is this: when churning is being made, if any person is in he helps a short time with the churning before he goes out, because it is believed if that was not done he would bring all the butter with him.
