    Then he makes three holes across the ridge with a "stiveen" and the person that is "pitching" to him pitches one "split" into each hole.
    When all the "splits" are in the ridges he raises the "dead mould" to cover them.
    Then before he "sets" them he spreads manure, and after a couple of weeks he "sets". them, and when the young stalks come up he moulds them.
    There is another way of sowing potatoes called "Fíribín" and this is the way he does it. First of all he turns in a sod each side of the brow.
    Then he spreads the manure across the ridge and "leaves" the splits. He covers them with clay out of the "shough" and after a few weeks he "sets" them and when the stalks come up he mouds them. "Fíribín" is always
