Currabaggan is a village in the parish of Backs and is five miles south of Ballina to the west of the River Moy. It is divided into two parts namely - Currabaggan East and Currabaggan West. The Ballina - Pontoon road divides it.
In Currabaggan East there was a Holy well called "Tobar Brígdhe. It was in the middle of the field owned by Pat McHale and it had a little wall round it. People performed stations there up to about twenty years ago. I would seem that the field in which it was - was divided into two parts and that a fence was built over the well with the result that it has since disappeared.- Collector
