Tamhach- caol:
The meaning of it is the narrow strip of cultivated land in the heath.
"Cró na ngabhar":
The meaning of it is, that long ago a man built a sty there for goats. At night for fox would kill the young kids and he put them in there.
"Bóthar an t-Sagairt":
The meaning of it is the priest's road. Long ago when a person died, he would be brought that way to the grave. It was the priest that got it built there. The road is still to be seen. It goes out through the bog and on for the chapel.
"Cnocán na Raithnighe": It means the hillock of the ferns. It is situated in John O'Boyle's land. There were ferns on it(continues on next page)- Collector
