Outside their own gate there was a fairy fort, and every morning when the child was going to school her mother always went out and opened the gate for her and then closed it. Her mother used to look out then to see if the little one would be going down the road, so she saw no sign of her, nor for three mornings after. So she said to herself it must be into the fort she went instead of going to school.
