    the plug at the bottom is removed and the butter milk comes out and it is strained. Then the butter is washed. It is washedin the churn. Then it is taken out of the churn with a scoop. Then it is salted, about 1oz of salt to each pound. Then it is weighed and made into 1lb or two lb rolls. Long ago people used to say the fairies used to take the butter. It used be seen stuck on gates and doors in the morning. Butter milk is used to make bread. It is given to calves and pigs also.
