- Making a hair spancel or buarai.
This is how to make a hair spancel.
First hair is got out of a horse's tail.
Then it is ripped. Then a bit of wire is got shaped like a billhook called a twister.
It is then put in the end of the hair. The hair is left out in equal thickness. The twister is twisted round and round. When it is long enough some of it is made into a ball. A bit of wood with a clash in the middle of it called a buarín is got and put in where the twister was. One catches the buarín and another catches the end the near ball. The twisted hair in the ball is twisted around the other bit. When a bit is done the buarín is put into the starting of the spancel. This will make a loob for to close the spancel. Then it is twisted around again until it is up to the buarín. The spancel is then caught and the twisted hair is put into the clashes in it. This is done until the spancel is thick enough.- Collector
