    Pheasants build in furze. They lay up to twelve eggs.
    The blackbird builds in briars. She lays four or five pale blue eggs.
    When the swallow flies low it is a sign of rain. When the curlew bawls loudly and the robin chirps it is a sign rain
    When our Lord was hanging on the cross the robin was trying to pick the nails out of His hands and feet. A drop of blood fell on its breast and that is why it has a red breast.
