When he was just two yards from the end of the weeds the ground gave way and he could feel himself falling down but he fell on to a heap of dry sticks which broke his fall, when he recovered his senses he got up and explored the cave as it appeared to be. He found out that it was a very old cave owned by the forefathers of Mr. White. When he managed to get out of the cave he went to Mr. White and told him of his find. Mr. White was a staunch Catholic and he told the priest he could have the cave to hide in and to say mass in. He then got steps concreted in the wall and he got the interior remodeled. Well when the Penal days were over another Mr. White became owner of the estate. He had the weeds cut down and made into a field. But he left the weeds growing on the path leading to the cave. When he died his grandson the late Mr. White succeeded him. Not one person ever found the cave nor the path leading to it, only one child called Mary White whose heart and body(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
