- I heard of a ship that was wrecked coming up the bar. It had a load of plank for William Heely, the Mall, Ballyshannon. Coming up the bar it ran off the coarse and hit a rock and was wrecked. The men leaped into a lifeboat, and got safe, before the other boat sank. The old mast is to be seen yet, but it will be broken this Winter with the storm. Some of the planks were washed of it, and cast ashore.
