- On a small hill in the townland of Glasbuly there is a fort called “Ard Fathadh.” This fort is larger than most of the forts in the district. It is round in shape and the outside circumference is 870 feet. There are sciog bushes growing round the outside of the fort. Long ago, there lived a king there and he had an underground tunnel from the fort to Racoo graveyard where there was a little church founded by St. Patrick. There was an entrance into the fort, but it is now closed up. Some years ago, there came men from Dublin who dug up some of the fort and they found scales and some bones. There is another fort on a hill near Ballintra station.(continues on next page)
