  1. (no title) (continued)

About forty-five years ago there lived in a a place called Killcashel a man named William Boyd.

    (continued from previous page)
while it was in his mouth he muttered some words. Then he threw it into the fire and took a mouthful of the clean water and said some words and threw out the water as before. Then he took a mouthful from the third boul a did the same again.
Before doing any more he sent the boy back to William's house to tell him that he knew he did not believe but before he could (not) take the mote out of his eye that he must believe.
When the boy arrived at William's house and told him what Henry said. William said perhaps he could do so and he sent the servant boy back to Henry McSwine's house again.
Henry got three bouls of water and having taken three mouthfuls of water from each of the first two bouls he grappled through the third boul for the mote.
At last he got it on the top of his finger. Then he got a piece of clean paper and and put it into it and sent it with the boy back to William Boyd. When the boy arrived at William's house he found him out after cattle. The mote was out of his eye.
