- Good. Bad.
These herbs were told to me by my mother Brigid Dornan, Tullybeg age 42 years.Blood weed - is a bad herb. It smothers the crops. There is little red spot in the middle of the leaf. It is said that it was under the cross when Our Lord was crucified and that there fell a drop of blood on it and that this is the cause of the red spot.Grouncel - is a bad herb it smothers the crops.Thistle - is a weed which grows in good land. It destroys the meadows.Farban - also grows in good land. It is good for cows for giving butter but it grows in the potato crops, and smothers the potatoes.- Collector
