The farmer never interferes with the lisses, fearing he would draw the wrath of the fairies down on himself, therefore they are all full of briars and furze. "Jacky the Lantern" has often been seen in those places, and the fairies were often seen milking the cows on a moon light night and churning butter. When this happened the farmers wife could get no butter from her cream, because the fairies had already taken away the butter.(continues on next page)
