    out and leaving a baby after her in the cradle she would leave a [?] in the cradle so that the fairies would not bring the baby. At night going to bed to the people they would put the stool upside down in the cradle afraid a fairy child would be in it in the morning.
    It is believed that if a person put a bag on the roof of a house on that night before May Day, and if he took it down again before sunrise, and if any animal had a pain this bag would cure it. It is called the "May brac" nó brac na bealteaine.
    When a person would have finished a churning he would take a bit of the butter and put it over the fár-doras so that the fairies would not bring the butter.
