    Aon uair a bhí Colm Cille ag siubhal thart fá chladach na Maoile Ruaidhe. Bhí dhá fhear eile amuigh ag iasgaireacht.
    Tháinig siad isteach agus chuaidh Colum Cille fhad leobhtha. D’iarr sé bradán ortha. Dubhairt siadsan nach rabh bradán ar bith acu.
    Bhí fhios ag Colum Cille go rabh bradán acu. Char d’iarr sé ortha an dara uair, acht dubhairt sé “Comh fada agus tá an Mhaol Ruadh annsin ní bhfuigheadh duine ar bith bradán.”
    Agus ó’n lá sin go dtí an lá indiu ní bhfuair duine ar bith bradán san Mhaoil Ruaidh.
