The wedding feast was held at the bride's house at night and there was dancing and music.
The people attending the wedding always raced home in jaunting ears, and there was cheering and bonfires.
During the feast a lot of the young people used to father round the house all masked and dressed up, and if they were not given money or whiskey they burned stacks, and everything they could get at. Some people gave them money, and other invited them in and gave them whiskey and so on.
It was said to be very unlucky if the bride looked at herself in the glass. -

It may bring her unlooked-for misfortune,

Until she has had the last look,
If even a necklace be lacking,
Fate will not then bring her to look.
It was also said to be lucky if the bride wore - "Something old, and something new, something borrowed, and something blue" on her on her wedding
