A Song
“Belville, it lies to the west as you go through.”
A song was written locally by Micky Duggan, a blacksmith of Churchill entitled "Beautiful Churchill".A verse of this song is as follows:-Belville, it lies to the west as you go through
Plantations grand around it stand
Most beautiful to view.
In Derryveigh, a lovely place doth lie
Where four and forty families lived
In days gone by.
But now in these cold winter days
Is a residence for swan
Where these four and forty families
Were forced to leave their land.- Collector
