    May is an unlucky month for marriages for it is said that if you marry in May you'll rue the day. Thursdays Fridays & Saturdays are unlucky days for marriage.
    Many matches are made in our district.
    Money is usually given as a dowry.

  3. A wedding feast is usually held in the houses to which the wedding company returns.
    Alexander Wright and Moses Ewing who lived in the townland of Lishillion acted as straw-boys. They were dressed in different colours and wore castor-hats. They danced.
