    Marriages mostly take place before the beginning and at the end of Lent.
    May is an unlucky month for marriages for it is said that if you marry in May you'll rue the day. Thursdays Fridays & Saturdays are unlucky days for marriage.
    Many matches are made in our district.
    Money is usually given as a dowry.
