- (continued from previous page)down a creel from his own house to hold the fish. But when he went as far as the house the fish were up there already. He told his wife to make the two strange men tea and she did so. The men were then invited to remain for the night and he did so. In the morning the man of the house went out to the byre to see his cow, and he was greatly surprised to find there two young calves turning around. Now this man’s cow had had no calves for twenty years before this. He ran in to tell his wife about the strange calves and he found his wife lying in the kitchen-bed with two baby boys beside her. The two strange men got up and one of them wrote a letter and gave it to the man of the house to give to the parish priest asking him to come up to the house to baptize the babies and to bring his congregation with him. The name of one of these men was Death and the name of the other was Judgment. Death gave the man of the house a(continues on next page)
