- (continued from previous page)was driving the mail-car from Ballybofey to Donegal, went astray in this snow-storm. The snow covered the hedges, ditches, and bridges so that one could not distinguish between the road and the surrounding country. Magee evidently lost his bearings and went off the road, and went over hill and dale. Himself and his mail-car got back to the road again in the evening of the following day. A man named John Cunningham, who lived in Cashelnavean about eight miles from Donegal at this time, lost his life in this snow-storm. Three weeks after the snow had disappeared he was found dead in his own house where the roof had fallen in. The enormous weight of the snow on the roof had thrown down his little house and killed the poor fellow inside.
