- These are the names of the animals on Mason's farm - cows, horses, sheep, pigs and calves. When driving home the cows they say "Hough". Where driving the calves they say "Sug". The cowhouse is white-washed inside and outside. The cows are tied by the neck with a chain. The tyings are not home-made. A horse-shoe is hung over the door of the house to bring luck. The cows have names: Polly, Whitestockings, Nancy, Branny, Granny and Hump.I don't know any stories connected with milking. The stable is whitewashed inside and outside. Some of the stables are divided into two parts and the others are divided into one. The horses eat hay, straw and corn.I don't know any famous horses in olden times. The call for the hens is "Tuck". The call for the goat is "Kiddie". A mark is put on some of the hatching eggs.
