Behind the cows runs a drain or "grape" for catching the manure and a similar one behind the calves with a path between the too grapes. There is a hole in the gavel wall opposite the door and about the grape through which the manure is thrown when cleaning it out.
As the manure is put out through this hole by degrees it forms a manure heap. This grape or drain is cleaned once a day.
We have names on some of our cows such as Flag Tail because she has a long tail with the end white. "White Stockings" This cow gets her name on account of her white feet. "Molloy" is the name we give a cow with no horns. "Carn(continues on next page)- Collector
