- St. Bridget's Crosses are made on the 1st February with rushes and straw and all the family help in the making.
The rushes are cut that day and a bundle taken into the kitchen.
After tea the are twisted together in the form of a cross. When these crosses are made there is holy water put on them and then put into each of the out-houses and one is also hung on the kitchen wall and it is believed that they will guard(continues on next page)- Collector
