    There are four shoemakers in Buncrana that I know of Patrick McNutt, Peter McLaughlin and Thomas Lee. Main Street, Buncrana and Charles Mclaughlin, Park Avenue, Buncrana.
    Clogs are worn sometimes by the people because they are supposed to be warmer and also because they are cheaper and are said to keep out the damp.
    The people of this district used to wear elastic sided boots these are rubber boots with elastic at the top for slipping on the feet.
    It is the custom here to throw an old shoe after a wedding for luck.
