    water so that the butter would not stick to them when working with it and then she lifts out the butter into a baisin.
    After that she washes well the milk out of the butter with cold water, working all the time with butter-spades, she then salts it to flavour it and also to preserve it. We have scales to weigh it in half pounds.
    If there is thunder the butter is very soft and in frosty weather the milk is very hard to churn.
