    He was directed to go to Gallagher's of Tullynavin. This he did and he was allowed to stay. During the night time a number of neighbours came in to Gallagher's and the pedlar was murdered. Who the real culprit was it could not be found out but it was known that it was not the Gallagher's who commited the murder. From that day to this a red light haunts the house, and it can be seen in a dark night from far off.
    There is a story told about two men who found sixpence going to the fair a few days after the murder. This sixpence was supposed to belong to the pedlar. When they found the sixpence they decided to buy half a pint of whiskey with it. This they did and after coming out of the public house they were
