    yet but not in every case. In some cases if they did not get the girl they went home. The next fair day both boy and girl went to the fair and got married. This was called a "run away" wedding.
    If the bride's father was fairly rich he gave her money and if he was not he gave her a cow or a few sheep.
    The bride usually got spending a week at home after she was married.
    If the groom did not live near she was brought home on horse-back. That night a dance was held in the groom's house. It was unlucky for the bride to go home inside a month after she was taken to the groom's house.
    The bride's-cake was usually [?]. Inside the cake is a ring, a button, and a match. The next door neighbour woman would make the wedding make. This cake would be made of oat meal and baked on a "griddle" by the side of a turf fire. The woman that made the cake cut the cake on the wedding night.
    In olden time people did not believe in putting the cake under the pillow and dreaming on it, same as nowadays
