  1. There is a fort about a half miles from my house and around that fort there is a fence dug and a wall around that again. Inside in the fort there are trees, and holes dug under the trees and it was said that long ago there used to be a beautiful lady, with a dog seen sitting at the end of that hole and when any come the way she would run into the ground but if anyone dared to interfere with her she would set the dog on the,. If he chanced to bite you you would be blood-poisoned. There is a certain kind of shrub down in that hole and if you could get it and boil a few leaves of it the water that boiled it would cure the blood-poisoning if affected part were washed in it.
