- Long ago when the people were getting married they used to go on horse-back. When they would come in to the house, the man would leave the cake on the bride’s head. It was now an old costum to throw an old shoe after the (the) boy and the girl that were getting married. May and July are supposed to be (an) unlucky months for getting married. June is supposed to be a lucky month. The wemon used to dress in blue and wear white caps on their heads. There is an old saying, “if you marry in blue your wish will come true.
