    Local Place Names
There is a field near our house and it is called Waterloo field. It is so called because the man that owned it was born the day the day the battle of Waterloo was fought (1815)
The limekine field, is so called because there was lime in about forty years ago but it is closed up now. Another field is called the round meadow because it is round in shape and it is used as a meadow nearly every year. There is a field in possession of Mr Mc Cullen called the goose field how it got its name my father does not know.
