- Gleneely is about nineteen miles from Aileac where the kings used to live. It is said that Owen O'Neill used to visit Gleneely very often for he was very fond of hunting. He was also very fond of the sea and loved Culdaff Bay. There is a big rock in a townland called Carthage. Owen was very fond of sitting on this rock and watching the sea. This rock is on a little hill and from that day to this it is called Dun Owen.
