- At the beginning of the penal period there lived a priest named rev. Patrick Hession in co. Galway. The English soldiers were following him trying to kill him. They always brought a lorry so that they could throw him in to it when they would catch him.
One day within a quarter of a mile of Galway they got up to him and caught him. He asked them to give him time to make an act of contrition and they did so.
All of a sudden he rose his hand and the lorry went on fire. They were all burned as they they had no time to escape- Collector
