the dead hour of the night. One man ran out by Pat Kelly as he was passing by the fort and swept his hat of his head. The poor man fell and when he got up he could not get his hat. So the next night he passed by the fort and there was an old woman sitting on the top of the fort and she crying and calling Pat for his hat. So he would not go back for his hat and ever since she is heard crying near the fort.
People often heard the fairies churning very late at night.
