Of the many stories I heard this one appealed to me most. About a half mile from my house there is a stretch of hill called Bally Cuddy which was once a very prosperous village with its chapel and hundreds of houses and a happy contented people, but now, only the ruins remain of that once happy village.
A cruel tyrannical land lord in his greed to extend his estates evicted those poor people and tumbled down their homes to make room for his increasing stock of cattle.
One of the survivors of these evictions settled down near where I live and she often told her son about a pot of gold that was hidden under a large flag on the mountain under a large flag on the mountain side near the spring well.
He gave no heed to her talk for a long time, but in later years she again asked him(continues on next page)- Collector
