On Whit Monday people who go bathing are supposed to get drowned. On this day many harmful accidents are supposed to occur. On New Year's Eve the bells chime, and the chiming of the bells tells that the old year is replaced by the New Year.
On Easter Sunday people eat more eggs than usual and when breakfast is finished they string the egg-shells and they tie them to the ceiling. They leave them there until Easter Sunday comes again. On Saint Patrick's Day Shamrock is worn by the people in honor of Saint Patrick. On Holy Thursday people go to the Church and they pray there different hours. On Good Friday people remain in the Church three hours. This day is called a black fast day and the people fast from milk and they drink black tea. There are many other festival customs which the people of the district perform.
