  1. A Local Song (continued)

all you thats at your liberty

    (continued from previous page)
For life is dear to all
And onley they were brave young men
They all were sure to fall.
    III
His life trial day has come and gone
    But alas no freedom given
To one who tried to save a life
That would be now in heaven
    Callaghans wife was standing there
    To swear their lifes away
But the devil will have both him
and her all on the Judgement day
All you that love the shamrock
You will pray both night and day
    That God may comfort Joseph
    Bowles although his far away
    A few years of confinment
Will not injure one so brave
And we hope to meet him here
Once more to dance on Callaghans grave
