    (z) Páirc na h-Abhainn: it is a field near a river.
Legend(a):- Once a man was coming through Pallas. It was a dark night. He heard a great noise coming after him. He stood, and looked back, and he saw a great light.
Then a carriage and two white horses and a man dressed in red driving, passed him out. It went into the hall door and the noise he heard he imagined the house was knocked. Often since then, light was seen in Pallas.
Legend (b):. One night, as a man was coming from Clarke's Mill and he was coming through Crannagh, he had to come over a gate, and he heard a great noise coming after him. Then he saw a great bit turkey-cock. It followed him until he came out on the road and then it disappeared.
Legend (c) One night a man was coming from Tynagh, and he was coming near Pallas Gate. He met a red shadow and it followed him for a half-mile. He thought of a plan. He had his Rosary Beads in his pocket. He took it out and threw it around him and then the red shadow was not to be seen any more.
