“Sometime maybe I will wander back to Eire”
Sometimes maybe I will wander back to Eire. Even at the closing of my day, To see again the heather on the hill-side, And the sun go down on Galway Bay.
To see again the ripple in the trout stream And the women in the meadows making hay To sit around the turf fire in the cabin, And to watch the barefoot "garsoons" at their play.
The winds that blow across the sea's from Eire, Are perfumed with the heather as they go And the women in the uplands digging "praities" Speak a language that the English do not know,
