- (continued from previous page)Sprain: A sprain could also be cured by bathing the affected part in fog water and making the Sign of the Cross in it three times with a piece of free-stone. Sick Stomach: A sick stomach could be cured by boiling dandelion and drinking the juice.Jaundice: Jaundice was cured by boiling "Wild Woodline" and "Eye-Bright" together and drinking the juice.Burns: A burn could be cured by licking a "mamkeepers" belly.A burn could be cured by boiling the roots of a dock-leaf and rubbing to the burn three times.Nettle Sting: Rub a dock leaf to the affected part.Warts: Run nine straws on them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. The straws are then to be put into a piece of paper and thrown on the road. If anyone picks them up, the warts will disappear.(continues on next page)
