- About twelve years ago there lived in Glenfarne a woman named Mrs. Keany.
As the water was very scarce on here land during the Summer she used to drive her cattle into another man's land during that season to drink.
She used to do this very early in the morning as she was in the dread of the owner of the land catching her tossing the ditches.
The ghost of a man named West who used to live in a gate house belonging to Mr. Tottingham was supposed to be seen in the vicinity of the river at that time.
There lived at the same time near St. Mary's Church a man named John Keany who was very fond of playing jokes on his neighbours. One morning he as coming home from his rambles very early who did he spy but Mrs. Keany giving a drink to her cattle.
