- There are a great number of harmful weeds in this district. Here are some of them: "nettles," "dandelion," "docking" and "red shank." "Nettles" are used for the cure of the measles. "Dandelion" is boiled like cabbage and is eaten by the people in this district. The "red shank" is harmful because it spreads through the potato crop. The "docking" is harmful because it spreads through the ground and is always pulled out of corn crops. It is very hard to pull a "docking" by the root. The "red shank" grows high and there comes a great number of little flowers on it. The "docking" is a very large green leaf which spreads thickly. "Dandelion" is also a little green leaf and there comes a big yellow flower on it. "Nettles" grow very tall and there are also little green leaves on it. If you get a sting(continues on next page)
