for horses to travel upon, and so asses one used for this work. Leading to the lowland bog is a road and the turf can be carted home.
Early in the morning the farmer gets his horse and cart ready for the drawing home of the turf, and they who must draw on donkeys must get creels and straddle in order. Off they go to the bog then. When the loads are taken home, they are made into a big heap in the haggard, this is called the stack, and is carefully built up on both sides in the form of a triangular prism.
