- About six miles from where I live in the neighbouring Parish of Killargue Co. Leitrim there is a holy well. This well is situated in Keegan's field about 100 yards from the main road leading from Drumkeeran to Manorhamilton. It is near the hamlet of Killargue. It is named after Saint Arguill. There is a white-thorn bush growing on one side of it. People visit this well on the 15th August every year. The people go round the well three times and say one our Father and three Hail Marys and they drink three sups of the water each time. They leave money, medals and bits of beads behind. It is said the water is a cure for Rheumatism. A man named Conlon was cured at this well. He was crippled all his life. He bathed his feet and then walked home without his sticks.
