And of you they'll make their own.
Hes hard to please and cool at heart
that wont feel quite at home.
    You'll ne'er forget a term spent,
    among those heathery hills,
Where healthy sport and dances old,
    shall banish all your ills,
They suffer bravely in their hearts
    and never wear a frown,
Those are the kind of folk you'll meet
on the hills above the town.
    In far off California
our loved ones will be found,
But they have left their hearts in Erin
on the hills above the town,
We'll keep and them tenderly until they
do return, and they'll find a welcome,
As of yore where the cheery peat fires burn,
both night and morn our prayer will
Be return when God wills and may you
never leave those lofty heathery hills,
May you in comfort ever live and may
    you joys abound,
To prosper here for ever on the
    hills above the town.
