- Long ago there used to be great fun at marriages. When the of a marriage came along the people used to get their horses traps and sidecars and go to the marriage. When the ceremony was over and when the marriage couple had come out of the chapel somebody would throw rice or an old shoe at them. When the night came there used to be great feasting. Then the strawboys would come with their false-faces and straw-hats The people of the house would have a barrel or two of porter and when the people would be drinking for a while they would get blind drunk and they would(continues on next page)
